For a year now, the residents of neighborhoods 028 and 029 in the municipality of Fushë Kosovë have been facing water supply reductions. In addition to the constant interruptions, the water is also undrinkable.
The community representative, Bashkim Krasniqi, told KosovaPress that the issues with regular water supply are expected to be resolved with the installation of a new water supply network, which is currently underway.
“The water problem is being addressed and is expected to be resolved very soon. It has not been completed yet, even though there has been a water network before. However, there were still reductions—sometimes water would come, sometimes it would stop. But now, a new water supply network is being installed. It’s a two-year project, and I don’t know exactly how long it will take to complete, but I believe that once it’s done, there will be a regular water supply,” Krasniqi said.

Krasniqi expressed the dissatisfaction of residents in these neighborhoods with both the water reductions and its quality.
“It’s true that there are complaints, because the water is being reduced from time to time, and people need to have access to water 24 hours a day. They are not satisfied with the current situation… Besides the reductions, the water is also undrinkable,” he stated.
While the KosovaPress team visited both neighborhoods, residents voiced complaints about the water reductions, but none agreed to speak on camera.
KosovaPress also sent an email to the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë to get a response regarding the complaints from residents of neighborhoods 028 and 029, but by the time this article was published, no response had been received.
